It’s been reported that Krayzie Bone (real name Anthony Henderson) has been hospitalized and is fighting for his life. This past Friday (Sept. 22), he had coughed up blood and checked himself into an L.A. hospital, according to an article from TMZ. Tests were taken and doctors have said they discovered a bleeding artery in one of his lungs.
Various news sources, ranging from TMZ to Allhiphop.com, have stated that Krayzie has been dealing with a respiratory issue and that he suffers from sarcoidosis, an inflammatory disease, according to an article from KTLA. The same article had a statement from the American Lung Association that the condition occurs when “the immune system overreacts, causing groups of cells to form clusters of inflamed tissue called ‘granulomas’ in one or more organs in the body.”
Many rappers, such as fellow Bone members like Bizzy and Layzie, along with Ice-T, Fat Joe, Tech N9ne, etc. have expressed their reactions to the news of Krayzie’s condition.
As a Bone fan, I was shocked at the news. I have always admired his work, whether it was with the group or solo. He is also only 50. If a friend of mine hadn’t told me the news, I would not be writing about this.
Here is hoping he pulls through.
